Meet Shayna Miller Hobbs, a Stockbridge-Munsee Mohican artist creating songs of hope and healing under the moniker VONALISA which is an ode to her late brother.
She blends the rich melodies of her heritage with contemporary sounds. Shayna's musical journey began the moment she was born. Her father's voice singing over her was the first sound she heard out of the womb in the hospital room.
From a young age, Shayna was captivated by the power of music to tell stories and evoke emotions. Following in her father's footsteps, she's honed her songwriting craft over the years, playing in multiple bands and recording and writing since she was young.
Shayna's music is a reflection of her heart and heritage, seamlessly weaving Native sounds and rhythms with elements of folk, rock, blues and ambiance. Her gentle and soothing voice penetrates the soul and each performance is a healing experience.
